Know your security posture before your insurer, your biggest client, or an attacker checks it for you

ClearScan looks at your business from the outside — the same view they get — and turns it into a letter grade, a plain-English fix list for your IT team, and a PDF report built for cyber-insurance applications and renewals.

Teachers don't let students grade their own homework

Your IT provider says you're secure. ClearScan checks. Run an independent scan, get a letter grade, and hand your IT team a plain-English fix list — then watch your score climb as they work through it.

This isn't about catching anyone out. Good IT teams welcome an outside check — it turns “trust me, we're covered” into a grade they can point to, and gives them a clear list to work from.

Common questions

Everything you need to know before your first scan.

My IT provider already handles security — why do I need this?

Keep them — ClearScan isn’t a replacement, it’s the outside check. Your IT provider does the work; ClearScan independently verifies it from the public internet, the same vantage point an insurer or attacker has. Good IT teams welcome it: the fix list gives them a clear work order, and the rescan shows their work paying off.

Will this help with my cyber-insurance application?

Yes — every paid report includes a cyber-insurance readiness PDF that covers the things insurers commonly ask about, in the language they use. It shows where you stand before your insurer looks; it isn’t a certification, and no tool can promise a particular premium.

Do you install anything or access our systems?

No — nothing is ever installed and we never get access to anything. ClearScan only looks at what’s already publicly visible about your web address: email settings, website encryption, known breach databases. If a passerby on the internet can’t see it, neither can we.

What does the Security Posture Score mean?

The score (0–100, with a letter grade) reflects how your business looks from the outside — the same view an attacker gets. Above 80 means the basics are in solid shape; below 60 usually means there are high-priority issues worth fixing now. The full scoring method is public.

Is the free scan really free?

Yes, fully free with no credit card required. You get your score, a summary of key findings, and your top gap. Paid reports add every check, the full fix list, the PDF, and the cyber-insurance readiness PDF; monitoring keeps all of it current.

Is my data kept private?

We never store your internal data or passwords — we never have them in the first place. The only data tied to your account is your web address and the scan results (which reflect already-public information). Your results are visible only to you. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Can I scan a website I don’t own?

You should only scan websites you own or have written permission to check. By using ClearScan you agree to our Terms of Service, which require that you have authority over the address you’re scanning. Our checks are passive and public-source only, but permission is still your responsibility.

Someone will check your security this year. Be first.

Your insurer at renewal. Your biggest client's security questionnaire. An attacker, any day of the week. ClearScan gives you the same outside view first — with a grade, a fix list for your IT team, and proof of progress.
